Travellers Rest Farm, an active agricultural site in Blandford Forum, sought a long-term solution to manage high electricity usage across its daily operations. In 2014, the farm commissioned Save Energy UK to design and install a solar PV system that would help lower energy costs and support the farm’s transition toward more sustainable practices.
A 276 panel rooftop solar PV system was installed on suitable agricultural buildings, using high-efficiency panels to ensure optimal performance. The system was designed to match the farm’s typical daytime load, maximising energy generation during core working hours.
Over a decade later, the system remains in full operation, delivering consistent performance with minimal maintenance. The solar installation has provided significant cost savings and contributed to the farm’s environmental objectives.
