A Scout Hut in Southampton has taken a significant step towards reducing its energy costs and environmental impact by investing in an 8kW solar PV system combined with a 30kWh battery storage system.
The installation features 22 high-efficiency solar panels, generating enough renewable electricity to meet 100% of the Scout Hut’s annual energy requirements. The addition of battery storage enables excess electricity generated during the day to be stored and exported back to the grid when appropriate, maximising the value of the renewable energy produced.
The solar PV and battery storage system was carefully designed to maximise renewable energy generation while providing greater flexibility in how electricity is used.
By producing all of its annual electricity requirements on-site, the Scout Hut has significantly reduced its reliance on grid electricity. The integrated battery system stores excess solar energy for later use and allows surplus electricity to be exported back to the grid, further improving the value of the installation.
The installation delivers a range of lasting benefits, including:
By investing in renewable energy and battery storage, the Scout Hut has created a more sustainable facility that will continue benefiting young people and the wider community for many years to come.
Solar PV and battery storage aren’t just for businesses. Community buildings, village halls, sports clubs, schools and charitable organisations can all benefit from lower energy bills, greater energy independence and long-term financial savings.
Our team designs bespoke solar and battery storage solutions that maximise energy generation, reduce operating costs and deliver lasting value for organisations of every size.
