In 2011, Save Energy UK partnered with BCP Council to deliver an early-stage solar PV installation across council-owned housing in Poole. The initiative aimed to reduce household energy costs, support residents, and contribute to the council’s environmental commitments.
A total of 54 solar panels were installed across selected council housing properties in Poole. The systems were designed to generate clean electricity during daylight hours, reducing residents’ dependence on the grid and helping to improve each home’s energy efficiency.
Over a decade later, the systems continue to operate reliably. Minimal maintenance has been required, and the panels still contribute to meaningful reductions in electricity bills for residents. This installation represents one of Save Energy UK’s longest-running systems and showcases the long-term value of early investment in solar technology.
