At Save Energy UK, giving back to the local community has always been incredibly important to us. As a Dorset-based business, we’re proud to support local initiatives and grassroots organisations that make a real difference to young people and families across Bournemouth and the surrounding areas.
Recently, we had the privilege of supporting Kings Park Dynamos under-13s by sponsoring brand-new football kits for the team but we also wanted to make the occasion even more memorable.
To celebrate the team’s incredible season, AFC Bournemouth midfielder Ryan Christie surprised the players during their trophy presentation, creating a day the boys, coaches, and families are unlikely to forget anytime soon.
The Kings Park Dynamos under-13s have had an unbelievable season, so we wanted to help celebrate their success in a special way.
After sponsoring the team’s brand-new kits and hats, we arranged for AFC Bournemouth midfielder Ryan Christie to surprise the players during their Bournemouth Youth Football League Division 3 trophy presentation.
Seeing the reaction on the boys’ faces when Ryan arrived was incredible. He spent time chatting with the players, congratulating them on their achievements, and presenting the team with their league trophy after an outstanding title-winning campaign.
For many of the boys, meeting a Premier League footballer from AFC Bournemouth was a dream come true and made an already special day even more unforgettable.

For our business owner Steve Randall, supporting Kings Park Dynamos was particularly meaningful because of his own history with the club.
Steve actually played as goalkeeper for the Dynamos during his youth, so the club has always held a special place in his heart.
Speaking about the sponsorship, Steve said:
“I lined up as goalkeeper for the Dynamos in my youth, so this club has always had a special place in my heart.
“Being able to support them now feels like giving something back to the community that shaped me.”
The connection to the club remains strong today. One of Steve’s former teammates is still a close friend, while the son of one of our Save Energy UK employees now also plays for the Dynamos.
That sense of community connection is something we truly value as a local business.
Grassroots football plays such an important role within local communities throughout Bournemouth and Dorset.
Clubs like Kings Park Dynamos provide young people with opportunities to stay active, build confidence, learn teamwork, and create lasting friendships.
At Save Energy UK, we believe supporting these clubs is incredibly important because they help shape the next generation both on and off the pitch.
Steve explained:
“Supporting these teams and seeing the players thrive, that’s what it’s all about.”
Grassroots football clubs rely heavily on volunteers, parents, coaches, and sponsors to continue providing opportunities for young players, and we’re proud to play a small part in helping support the club moving forward.

The Kings Park Dynamos under-13s have fully earned their success this season.
The team completed an unbeaten campaign, winning all 16 matches and scoring more than 100 goals on their way to becoming Bournemouth Youth Football League Division 3 champions.
Team manager Dom Weir praised the boys for their commitment throughout the season and thanked us for supporting the team.
Dom said:
“We are very thankful to Steve and Save Energy UK for providing our U13 team with this amazing new kit.
“To then be informed that Steve could bring along Ryan Christie to hand over the BYFL Div 3 Trophy to the boys was incredible, and we are very grateful.”
He also added:
“The boys had an amazing season, winning all 16 matches and scoring over 100 goals.
“They work hard in training, take on advice from the coaches, and fully deserve their success.”
Hearing how much the experience meant to the players and coaches made us incredibly proud to be involved.
At Save Energy UK, we’re passionate about supporting the communities that continue to support us.
Over the past few months, we’ve been fortunate to help more homeowners switch to solar and improve energy efficiency, but we also recognise the importance of giving back wherever we can.
Luke Randall from Save Energy UK said:
“It’s been an incredible few months for us.
“While we’re proud to be helping more people switch to solar and save money, it’s just as important to give back to the community that supports us.”
Community initiatives like this are about much more than sponsorship. They’re about creating opportunities, supporting local young people, and helping grassroots clubs continue to thrive.
The day was a fantastic celebration of community spirit, grassroots football, and local pride.
From the presentation of the new kits and hats to Ryan Christie handing over the trophy, it was a moment that brought together players, parents, coaches, and supporters in a truly positive way.
We’re incredibly proud to support Kings Park Dynamos and look forward to following the team’s continued success throughout the coming season.
Grassroots football is at the heart of so many communities across Dorset, and we’re honoured to help support a club with such a strong history and connection to the local area.
