To celebrate this milestone anniversary, a special concert was held at St Ambrose Church in Westbourne. The event was organised by the Dorset Police Male Voice Choir and featured performances from the Marazion Apollo Male Choir from Cornwall, creating a memorable evening that brought people together in support of a fantastic cause.

The atmosphere throughout the evening reflected the respect and appreciation that so many people have for the RNLI and the incredible work its teams carry out every day.

The Kings Park Dynamos under-13s have had an unbelievable season, so we wanted to help celebrate their success in a special way.

After sponsoring the team’s brand-new kits and hats, we arranged for AFC Bournemouth midfielder Ryan Christie to surprise the players during their Bournemouth Youth Football League Division 3 trophy presentation.

Seeing the reaction on the boys’ faces when Ryan arrived was incredible. He spent time chatting with the players, congratulating them on their achievements, and presenting the team with their league trophy after an outstanding title-winning campaign.

For many of the boys, meeting a Premier League footballer from AFC Bournemouth was a dream come true and made an already special day even more unforgettable.

Why Kings Park Dynamos Means So Much To Us

For our business owner Steve Randall, supporting Kings Park Dynamos was particularly meaningful because of his own history with the club.

Steve actually played as goalkeeper for the Dynamos during his youth, so the club has always held a special place in his heart.

Celebrating An Incredible Season

The Kings Park Dynamos under-13s have fully earned their success this season.

The team completed an unbeaten campaign, winning all 16 matches and scoring more than 100 goals on their way to becoming Bournemouth Youth Football League Division 3 champions.

Team manager Dom Weir praised the boys for their commitment throughout the season and thanked us for supporting the team.

“We are very thankful to Steve and Save Energy UK for providing our U13 team with this amazing new kit.

“To then be informed that Steve could bring along Ryan Christie to hand over the BYFL Div 3 Trophy to the boys was incredible, and we are very grateful.”

He also added:

“The boys had an amazing season, winning all 16 matches and scoring over 100 goals.

“They work hard in training, take on advice from the coaches, and fully deserve their success.”

Standing With a Much Loved Dorset Welfare Advocate

Save Energy UK is supporting an appeal for Nicky, a Dorset resident whose tireless work has touched the lives of countless people and animals across the county. Nicky is the founder of Dog Friendly Dorset and Merlin’s Pet Food Banks, initiatives that have helped families remain together with their pets during difficult times and ensured animals are cared for when circumstances become challenging.

In February 2025, after more than a year of persistent pain and repeated misdiagnoses, Nicky was diagnosed with stage three lung cancer. She is a non smoker and has a rare form of the disease, identified as NSCLC squamous with an EGFR exon 19 deletion mutation.

While the NHS is able to provide palliative care, certain first line treatments that could offer a potentially curative pathway are not available through the NHS due to current NICE guidelines and funding limitations. These treatments are accessible only through private oncology care, which places an immense financial burden on those who need it.

An appeal has therefore been launched to raise £80,000 pounds to fund the treatment plan and essential therapies required to support Nicky throughout the process.

A Cause Close to the Heart

This appeal holds particular significance for our team as Nicky is personally known to Harriet, a sales consultant at Save Energy UK. Harriet first met Nicky through her work encouraging Dorset businesses to become more dog friendly, a campaign that reflected Nicky’s belief in inclusion, kindness, and community responsibility.

Through shared experiences and work across Dorset, a strong friendship developed, founded on mutual respect and a shared commitment to helping others.

As Harriet explains, supporting this appeal was an instinctive decision.

Through Dog Friendly Dorset, Nicky has helped families keep dogs in their homes during times of financial hardship, worked with businesses to create welcoming spaces, and offered guidance and reassurance to pet owners across the county. As of the 26th of January 2026, the appeal had raised £38,890, representing 47% of the total target. This level of support reflects the esteem in which Nicky is held and the generosity of the Dorset community, yet there remains a significant distance to go.

All donations are being managed by Dog Friendly Dorset and will go directly towards private oncology treatment and essential therapies needed to maintain stability throughout the three stage treatment plan.

Our Marketing Manager, Lucy, has swapped her laptop for a hammer lately as she continues renovating her 1960s-built home. Over the weekend, she was hard at work knocking down walls, digging trenches, and chasing cables, with plenty of help from family and friends along the way.

While it’s been a busy few weeks of heavy lifting, Lucy’s been enjoying the creative side of the project too, choosing tiles, paint colours, and flooring to bring her design vision to life. The next few weeks will see new windows installed and plastering completed, ready to give the house a much-needed refresh before the exciting part begins, painting and decorating!

It’s been a true team effort and a rewarding process seeing the transformation take shape. We can’t wait to see the finished result!

Last Sunday, our Technical Support Manager, Luke Nippard, decided to spend his weekend doing something a little more demanding than usual. Instead of relaxing, he took on the challenge of the Bournemouth Half Marathon. Joined by his brother and sister, Luke made his way along the beautiful coastal route, surrounded by cheering crowds, supportive family members, and thousands of enthusiastic spectators who helped create a truly unforgettable atmosphere from the very beginning to the final stretch.

Luke originally planned to pace his sister to a finishing time of one hour and forty minutes. It was a thoughtful and steady plan, but the moment the race began, the excitement of the event took over. The competitive spirit kicked in almost immediately, and the pacing plan quickly faded into the background. Even without doing a large amount of training beforehand, Luke pushed through with determination and crossed the finish line in an impressive time of one hour and thirty one minutes.

The day was full of sunshine, lively energy, and constant encouragement from both the runners and the supporters who lined the route. It was one of those events that remind you how uplifting and motivating a community can be when everyone comes together. By Monday morning, Luke certainly felt the effort in his legs, but the sense of pride and achievement made every step absolutely worth it.

We want to give a huge congratulations to Luke and his family for such an amazing effort. It was a brilliant day, and we are incredibly proud of what they accomplished together.

That’s exactly what our very own Luke did this weekend when he traded his headset for a boat ticket and joined fellow Arsenal fans for a truly memorable away day.

Instead of sitting behind a desk helping customers power their homes efficiently, Luke found himself cruising down the River Thames on a party boat heading to Craven Cottage. The sun was out, the music was loud, and the atmosphere was electric. Surrounded by fellow Gunners, drinks in hand and songs echoing across the river, it was the perfect pre-match build-up.

When the boat finally docked, Luke and his mates made their way into Fulham’s famous riverside ground, joining the sea of red and white to watch Arsenal take on Fulham. The match didn’t disappoint, with Arsenal securing a 1–0 win and giving fans exactly what they came for. The celebrations were loud, the spirits were high, and the away-day buzz was in full swing.

But as every football fan knows, an away day isn’t complete without a few twists and turns. Luke had an 8:30 pm train booked home, but matchday excitement had other plans. One pub turned into another, and before long the 8:30 train became the 12:30 am one. That led to a late-night arrival in Eastleigh, missing the final connection, and finally a taxi ride back to Poole in the early hours of the morning. Not exactly the efficient journey he had planned but definitely one to remember.

Boat rides, good mates, football, and Arsenal bringing home three points Luke calls that a weekend well spent, even if Sunday morning came with a sore head and a few regrets.
